Children's Well-Being

We strongly believe in the value of children learning about how to look after themselves and make mental health and wellbeing a priority. Developing positive mental health education is interwoven into school in a number of ways; through our PSHE provision, through Children's Mental Health Week and through Liturgies.

It can be hard for children to really understand what we really mean by mental health and wellbeing so there is a clip here to help them to understand.

Children's Mental Health Awareness Week 1st-7th February 2021

Now more than ever this is such an important week.  From 1-7 February 2021, we’re taking part in Place2Be’s Children’s Mental Health Week. This year’s theme is Express Yourself.
As a school we are aware of the struggles facing young people currently and as a result have adapted the work that will be sent out to you next week to allow you to explore ways of helping your children stay mentally healthy.

Mental Health Week - The Nation's Live Assembly on Monday 1st Feb

Oak National Academy has teamed up with Place2Be and BAFTA Kids to create an assembly for Children's Mental Health Week 2021, celebrating this year's theme of “Express Yourself”.

Make sure you set your reminders to come back HERE at 9am on Monday 1st February to join Blue Peter’s Lindsey Russell and CBBC presenter Rhys Stephenson alongside some other special well-known faces. Let's bring the nation's children together (virtually!) with a positive message about the power of creative self-expression.

You can simply call your surgery and ask to speak to a well-being practitioner. They will call you back and discuss how best they can support you.
